It has been a lifelong dream of Cathy's to have a studio like Keys to the Music. After settling in Missouri in 2002, she began building her private teaching one student at a time. In 2005, she began her first choir with 5 high school girls in her home. By 2009, she was directing 3 choirs. In late 2009 she opened her first commercial studio in Garden City, MO and in 2012 she had outgrown her studio, expanded and moved the studio to Harrisonville, MO where it offered piano, voice, guitar, ukulele and numerous choirs as well as many other services. In fall 2018, the studio format evolved. Now, Cathy has a private studio and teaches select students piano, voice and theory. Keys to the Music now offers a network of individual teachers for guitar, drums, ukulele, etc that can connect students and instructors. Cathy insists on quality, experienced instructors who focus on building relationships with their students and offers a casual learning environment for all ages and abilities. She and her family reside just outside Harrisonville.
